Own data

Where the 50+ audience is on social media in Poland

Own data from six profiles for June 2026, with the measurement method for each platform. We publish it because almost nobody in this category shows how they count, and without that, reach figures cannot be compared.

Silver TV editorial team · · Data period: June 2026

In June 2026, content from Silver TV and Mądra Babcia (“Wise Grandma”) aimed at the 50+ audience in Poland recorded 16.9 million views across six profiles on four platforms: Facebook, Instagram, YouTube and TikTok. This is own data, measured through each platform's API. Each platform counts differently, so below we give not only the result but also the measurement method.

How is reach split between platforms?

Facebook delivered the most views, not YouTube. That is the opposite of what a media plan usually assumes, where Facebook appears as an exhausted channel. The two Facebook profiles, the channel's and Mądra Babcia's, together delivered more than 6.3 million views in a single month.

Views by profile, June 2026
Facebook Silver TV4,860,036
YouTube Silver TV4,420,000
Instagram Silver TV2,592,271
TikTok2,470,128
Facebook Mądra Babcia1,519,284
Instagram Mądra Babcia1,027,309

Each platform counts a view differently; the measurement method is in the table below.

Why these numbers must not be added up without caveats

Each platform counts differently, and each of these differences changes the result. Instagram reports at profile level, not for individual posts. TikTok's Display API counts cumulatively for each video, so the same material keeps adding to later months. Facebook already reports full views, and they should not be adjusted by any multiplier. We take YouTube from the channel counter, not as a sum of individual uploads. That second method understates recent months, because material from June had been collecting views for a few days, not a year. A view is not the same as a viewer: nobody can recognise the same person on two platforms, so we do not present this as unique reach.

How many people aged 50+ are on these platforms?

People over fifty in Poland have about 6.2 million active profiles on Facebook and 5.8 million on Instagram, with just over two million each on YouTube and TikTok. These figures come from a conference talk and need to be confirmed in Mediapanel, which is why we give them separately from our own measurements.

Putting the two sets side by side gives an interesting picture. Instagram has almost as many 50+ profiles as Facebook, yet in our data it collects almost three times fewer views. So the mere existence of an account does not mean that someone is watching content there.

Who was actually watching?

The audience of our channels is overwhelmingly female and mature. Women make up 74.5 percent of the audience, and people over 45 make up 81.8 percent. The measurement refers to YouTube, because only this platform provides audience demographics in such detail.

What does this mean for campaign planning?

This is interpretation, not data, and we keep the two apart. If a campaign is meant to reach women over fifty, Facebook and YouTube give greater reach than Instagram, although in media presentations it looks the other way round. The second conclusion concerns format: an average view on our channels lasts 127 seconds, which is four to eight times longer than an advertising spot. So sponsored material can be a conversation, not a slogan.
